The Case For The Darknet Over FB/Meta
    ----------

It has recently come to light that there has been censoring of posts to the Facebook (Meta) social network. It has been left-leaning censorship, where people on the "right" have their voices and opinions silenced as a result of inappropriate censoring by people and digital algorithms alike. The man in charge of Facebook/Meta has recently been in the news saying that he is sorry for what his company has done, and acknowledges the wrong-doing.

Luckily, there is an alternative to the standard social media places on the Internet via "flogs," or "free weblogs," or simply "free blogs" where a person can make their own website hosted off of The Onion Router (TOR), The Invisible Internet Project (I2P), and the network formerly known as The Freenet Project.

The Darknet has motivated people who were on the fringes of society to have a broadcast of their thoughts to the world. Unfortunately, in these settings one must note the creepers who are into degenerate perversion, but if you search for authors promoting things that you also want to hear about, then the Darknet may be for you, if watched closely so that you don't go down a rabbit hole to the bottomless abyss (Hell).

It could be said that Facebook/Meta has too much censorship while the Darknet has too little censorship. There are definite problems with both platforms, one is promoting the woke agenda, otherwise known as the (FB/META) and the other one is promoting degeneracy (the top three main Darknet platforms). The Darknet systems themselves are content-agnostic. It is the users of those networks that make for the culture of those networks. The problem is with the people who are perverts. They creep and crawl into digital safe havens and spread their extreme perversion to the Darknet world.

For blogs my favorite Darknet is the Freenet Project (the current name of it I have forgotten), because there are indexed in search engines that allow you to filter out the nasties and get some intriguing political, religious, and sociological thought. Granted I haven't used The Freenet Project in several years, but I have fond memories of the free speech that it empowered people with.

What has been your experience with social media? Should it be censored significantly or have no censorship at all? Perhaps the answer lays somewhere in some sort of middle ground.

    Food for thought indeed.

    Cheers!

Zuckerberg only admitted to half of his wrongdoing. He admitted to conspiring with the Harris/Biden administration to censor posts pertaining to COVID-19 and vaccines. (That's something we should also talk about in another sp00onet echo!) Zuckerberg failed to mention that he suspends accounts of people who are right-leaning for ridiculous reasons (My acct got suspended supposedly because my "activites are against Facebook's community standards.")

Luckily, there is an alternative to the standard social media places on the Internet via "flogs," or "free weblogs," or simply "free blogs"

I created my own social network, and I worked hard on it. I made a secure login system, a friending system, a status update system, an announcements system, and I integrated it with an open-source web-rtc system. It's a pretty nifty "social network," but here's the problem with my social network and with other "alternative" social networks:

I can't put my app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Because of my "free speech" policy, my app "doesn't comply with Google's community standards." The way the Google rep worded it: "Your app is prone to abuse and it doesn't include a system for users to report abuse."

Google's nice enough to let my site get indexed by their crawler, and they are fair with ranking and all that, but that's where their friendliness stops. And a social network isn't social unless it has an app on the Google Play Store.

Cool you brought up i2p - I've been running an i2p instance and seeding all my .torrents over i2p in addition to clear.

The coolest part of i2p over TOR is that more users = faster speeds. TOR, imo, missed out there b/c the only thing that helps speed is more relays - more users = slower speeds b/c most users don't run relays.

I hope that i2p continues to grow and become a better option in the future for dark needs.

In fact, there are a lot of social networking scripts, both paid and free.
Any right-winger or anarchist can create their own social network or messenger. The problem is exclusively in censorship at the level of SSL certificates and app stores, as well as browser plugins.
Another thing is that if your corrupt communists find out about such a project, they will try to hack it. This is what is happening with Antigoogle now. They use the TOR network to overload the server using Get requests to the script. They also send death threats and insults. In general, they behave like ordinary communists. So if you open such a project, you will most likely need strong guys with baseball bats beating the crap out of communists.
Technically, I repeat, you don't need DarkNet to open your own independent social network. Although they will try to arrange certain technical problems for you.

That's fine if you want to run a social network just for friends or just for the tech-saavy population, but not if you want to compete with facebook and the like.

Without having an app on Google/Apple, your social network is as good as a clunky old BBS.
