    It looks like it's being replaced with a Win10 box. :(

    We have some software that can transmit to our machines on it, but it's not designed to organize the data very well. The old DOS program we were using was called Easy-Talk. And it would nicely keep a small database of each file and organize it by machine/description/filename. The new software does none of that. So I was looking at creating a PHP application on our Linux server that could store, organize, edit, transmit the files. I got the storage, organizing, and editing figured out in PHP (I even wrote an import routine to read and store the Easy-Talk database files), but I can not get the serial communications to work.

    Not sure its going to be worth fixing the communications issues as the number of old CNC machines that utilize that has gone from 7 down to 3 and soon to 2 with plans of replacing another one. Yeah being able to plug a USB stick in the new machines is nice. But its too easy to loose organization of all the CNC programs. That old DOS program had it where it counted.
