    Hello everybody!

I'm watching Miami Vice and in S04E07 ("Missing Hours") at around 12 minutes in, a very young Chris Rock is talking about being on a BBS.

    Ah, the 80s.

Good catch, I'll have to revisit that episode....

I heard that "Global Thermonuclear War" was a popular 80's door game, haha

And every movie involving tech just HAS to have a big countdown timer, big 24-point fonts etc. Beep beep beep.

Remember Under Siege where the entire navy ship's computers have to reboot and its the sound of the Apple 2 floppy-boot sequence? Same with The Fugitive where Harrison Ford searches a database for one-armed men. Apple floppy noise.

What I always found amusing was the animated flying envelopes for emails and Usenet postings in Mission Impossible.... Tom Cruise being a super hacker spamming every group involving the Book of Job.

It was worse in Spain because we didn't have much knowledge of what Usenet was back then (or now, for that matter). I think in the Spanish version they refered to it as "The Internet" so a lot of people didn't really know what the fuck was going on XD

Ha! All I know is the first time I saw that movie, when I saw that particular "email client" I actually took a moment to search for one like it :)
